National Apprenticeship Week, 5th - 11th February
This year, the theme for National Apprenticeship Week is "Skills for Life". It is designed to encourage everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help individuals develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a rewarding career... and I would add that it's a chance to reflect on the many benefits for businesses and organisations too.
Certainly, that's what we will be doing this week - focusing on the health and social care sector in particular. We're going to be putting the spotlight on what it means to be an apprentice, what the benefits are to an employer, and doing a slightly deeper dive into this sector in Somerset and Dorset. We'll also be hearing from an employer, who will be telling us their views on apprenticeships.
Monday 5th: the benefits of a health and social care apprenticeship to an individual.
Tuesday 6th: the benefit of a health and social care apprenticeship to an employer.
Wednesday 7th: spotlight on the sector in Dorset.
Thursday 8th: spotlight on the sector in Somerset.
Friday 9th: the employer view of apprenticeships.
Saturday 8th: working with Swatpro.
There's lots happening on social media across England during the week... why not share your apprenticeship story using the #NAW2024 hashtag.
